Sex therapy is a specialized type of psychotherapy that aims to help individuals or couples address sexual issues or concerns. In sex therapy, we will identify and work through emotional, psychological and behavioural barriers to a fulfilling sex life. I aim to ensure that my approach to sex therapy is always sex-positive, kink-positive and inclusive.
Some of the reasons individuals or couples may seek sex therapy include:
Low or discrepant sexual desire
Sexual pain
Erectile dysfunction
Communication around sexual needs and desires
Confidence and body image
Low satisfaction with current sexual practices
Exploring and negotiating new sexual behaviours
Adapting sexual practices to sensory needs
Sex therapy may include a variety of psychotherapeutic techniques, some exercises to try at home, and education on sexual health and wellness. Sex therapy does not involve any physical contact between therapist and client(s).
Sex therapy can be offered in individual or couple format. The usual rates for individual therapy ($260) or couple therapy ($300) apply.
