Psychological Assessments

A psychological assessment is a process designed to better understand an individual’s thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences. It typically involves a combination of interviews, standardized measures such as tests and questionnaires, and observations, tailored to address specific concerns or questions.

Assessments can help clarify diagnoses, uncover the factors that contribute to psychological distress and gain a bigger-picture understanding of functioning and needs in different areas. Assessments can provide valuable insights to guide therapy or other supports.

Assessments differ from therapy in that the aim is to understand and describe your current psychological states from multiple points of view, state rather than making changes.

I offer assessment services for adolescents and adults aged 16-60 years old.

Types of Assessments Offered

Adult ADHD Assessments

An assessment that aims to help you make sense of your life experiences through the lens of neurodiversity, while establishing whether you meet criteria for an ADHD diagnosis.

ADHD assessments are priced at a package rate of $2500. Combined ADHD and autism assessments are priced at $4000.

Adult Autism Assessments

An assessment that aims to help you make sense of your life experiences through the lens of neurodiversity, while establishing whether you meet criteria for an autism diagnosis.

Autism assessments are priced at a package rate of $3000. Combined autism and ADHD assessments are priced at $4000.

Comprehensive Psychological Assessments

A comprehensive psychological assessment is a type of broad assessment that aims to explore many different facets of your life and of your psychological functioning in order to understand how they fit together and interact with each other. Diagnoses such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stress- related conditions and more may be considered as part of a comprehensive assessment.

This type of assessment might be helpful for those facing multiple concurrent issues or complex life situations.

Comprehensive assessments are priced at $260 per hour of work, including face-to-face interviewing and testing time, scoring and interpretation of tests and questionnaires, and report- or letter-writing. This is to ensure that cost is proportional to the complexity of the assessment. In other words, this pricing structures allows me to ensure that you only pay for the number of hours actually required to complete the assessment.

Targeted Assessments

A targeted assessment that aims to answer a specific question or clarify a specific diagnosis. Individuals may seek this type of assessment if they would like a second opinion on a diagnosis they received from another professional. For example, professionals like social workers, psychotherapists or family physicians may refer a person for a targeted psychological assessment if they suspect the person might have a specific disorder that impacts their treatment plan.
